Let’s Recap

What is This?

In 2022, during my final year of college, I studied abroad in Torino, Italy. It was my first time living in another country, and I didn’t know anyone I would study with. I went newly single, highly unsure of myself, intrepid, and more excited than ever. I flew across the world, knowing I’d be the first in my family to study in another country. I didn’t have a guidebook. I invited new experiences and learned along the way.

In the first week of living in Torino, I went to an outdoor clubbing event with my roommates and new classmates, but one of my roommates decided to sit it out. It was a whole production to get there. We certainly came and saw. When we got back home, the roommate who stayed home said something like, “Let’s have a recap.” We sat and talked about all the colorful events of our night.

After that, sometime every week, after we went out, we sat on our living room couches and recapped our night together or the night someone sat out.

This is a creative outlet for me and can be a guide for anyone going to Europe. A recap from different cities, describing the best restaurants and food, travel suggestions, and some anecdotes from my personal experiences. These stories are especially relevant for women traveling in Europe.

I am moving to Italy to get my master’s degree in agricultural science, including food microbiology and enology, at the University of Padova soon. I hope to share photography and stories from there as well.
